Winter by the fire

Well you know it takes time
To find who’s the shadow
And who are you
You know arms can break
From holding your own soul
Too tight and dry
But you forgot
How to play fair
Shielding your heart
With all the wrong words

Savage thing
Don’t dig my grave
Oh my sweet deathly thing
Come back and make my day
Give me my dose
Of poisonous hope

Now I’ll see it
In every glimpse of light
Like in the old sad days
Oh no the old sad days
The streets are full
An empty cave's my gaze
Bad news landed
Absence is the new presence
And the moon scared all the ghosts
Except yours

Savage thing
Don’t dig my grave
Oh my sweet deathly thing
Come back and make my day
Give me my dose
Of poisonous hope

If you say so
I’ll trust it all
If you do wrong
I’ll fix it now
But please don’t fade
Don’t fade so soon
There’s a lake in you
Where I can swim
And a sky
Where I can dream
Please don’t fade
Don’t fade so soon

I’ve been waitin
Waitin for too long
For a savage thing
To switch me on
To turn off all
Oh my savage thing
Oh my savage thing
